The U.S. and Costa Rica Begin Training Program to Professionalize Police Forces

U.S. Ambassador Anne S. Andrew and Costa Rican Minister of Public Security Jose Maria Tijerino attended the opening ceremony of the five-day training seminar for top and mid level leaders of the ministry.
This seminar is the first step of a larger four-year training program that aims to professionalize Costa Rica’s police forces. The training is being conducted by the Miami-Boston Group (MBG) and will give participants the philosophy and techniques of community policing to solve common police problems.
