Ambassador Andrew Congratulates Intel on Being Finalist for Award for Corporate Excellence
San Jose-October 14, 2010
Ambassador Andrew and embassy officials visited Intel Costa Rica this morning to tour the company’s innovation center and production facilities. The Ambassador also congratulated Intel on its nomination for the Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence. According to Intel, corporate social responsibility is not a carved out program, but rather a part of the company’s DNA.
At the innovation center, the embassy team learned about a number of programs including Intel’s support for Costa Rica’s National Science Fair that helps children learn how to be engineers, entrepreneurs, and investors. Also Intel continually seeks innovative business concepts that could bring more computers and software into the classroom, the hospital, and the doctor’s office.
After a tour of Intel’s production facility, the team learned that server products, many made in Costa Rica, power the internet worldwide!
